Excellent event in Geesala

Míle buíochas to author and psychotherapist Michael Ryan; mind-set and performance coach Marie Sweeney Khalifa; and behaviour support specialist, Emily Togher for a wonderful occasion recently. The conference and canapés event in relation to anxiety management for teens was enlightening and entertaining, and the food and service provided by the Erris Coast Hotel was superb. The feedback from attendees was excellent. The organisers - Mayo North East SICAP, Erris Workability, Erris Youth Disability Network- EYDN and HSE Sláintecare - are looking forward to organising another similar event in 2025!

Our Lady’s Secondary School

Huge congratulations to Our Lady’s Secondary School 1st year boys GAA team who captured the 1st year Post Primary Cup recently by defeating St. Tiernan's College, Crossmolina, in a super game at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence. Both sides were unbeaten this year in the lead up to the game and there was very little between the teams during the contest. The game began frantically with both sides exchanging some excellent early scores. They began to take control during the middle third of the game, but Tiernan's managed to claw their way back into the match as they approached the closing stages. Thankfully, they managed to find an extra gear in the final minutes of the game and claimed a memorable victory. Team captain, Harry Padden accepted the cup. Overall, it was a real team effort and the school were so proud of the determination shown by the young lads. A special mention goes to Mr Upton, Mr O'Donoghue and Michael Joe Barrett for their tireless work with this team since September. Hard work pays off!

Belmullet Bridge Club
