One of Mayo’s best-known and most respected businessmen has passed away. John Hanley, of Station Road, Castlebar, was laid to rest yesterday (Monday). Prior to his retirement, Mr Hanley operated a number of retail stores in the county town.

Mayo is mourning the loss of talented artist and musician John Mayock. Mr Mayock, of Cunnagher, Ross, Castlebar, passed away unexpectedly at his home last week.
