“I am delighted that the people have kept faith in me,” Coyle told
.“I have done the work and I have to say that this wouldn’t be possible without my family. I want to do the very best for the area and I will continue to do that.”
Meanwhile, McNamara remarked: “I am delighted with the vote I received - it was needed to keep my seat and to stay on as a representative for the area.
“We put a lot of effort into the campaign, I wanted to talk to the people and thank them. I am very proud and I look forward to continuing to represent the rural areas.”
Cllr McNamara exceeded the quota of 1,837 on the fourth count with 2,228 votes. On the same count, Cllr Coyle was elected with 1,867 votes.
