17-year-old boy killed in Claremorris tragedy named locally

Vakaris Gudaitis RIP.

The teenage boy who was killed in a tragic road traffic collision on Saturday night has been named as Vakaris Gudaitis.

The 17-year-old was a struck by a car on the N17 at Barnacarroll, Claremorris at approximately 9.20pm. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries have been reported.

It comes just days after the death of a mother and her two daughters on the same stretch of road.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the Gudaitis family pay for Vakaris' funeral costs.
