Tributes are being paid to the late Aileen Daly (née Kelly), who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and in the tender care of the nurses and staff at North West Hospice, Sligo.

Mrs Daly, of Clooncoose, Cootehall, Co Roscommon and formerly Lavally, Tuam, Co Galway, was the sitting secretary of Roscommon LGFA.
She was also LGFA chairperson for the St Michael’s GAA Club in Roscommon.
The county board described her as a “lady in the prime of her life, with so much still to impart to those around her.”
The Roscommon LGFA paid tribute: “It is with such sorrow that we have to inform you all of the sad passing of Aileen Daly, a lady who devoted her time, energy and knowledge to ladies’ football in her club and county for numerous years.”
“She was a gifted lady whose natural instinct was kindness and generosity towards others. Aileen dedicated herself to whatever position she was involved with, be it fixtures, assistant secretary or county secretary.”
As a mark of respect, St Michael’s have cancelled all activity until Saturday afternoon.
The Connacht LGFA U16 championship meeting scheduled for tonight between Roscommon and Sligo has also been postponed.
Pre-deceased by her parents Johnnie and Mary. Aileen will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Kevin, son Jack, daughters Miryam and Ellen, brothers John, James, David and Kenny, sisters Kathleen, Maresa and Martina, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, work colleagues and her wide circle of friends.
Aileen will repose at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon this evening from 4pm until 8.
Removal takes place from her home tomorrow (Saturday) morning to St Michael’s Church, Cootehall, arriving for Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm, followed by interment afterwards in Ardcarne Cemetery.
