Oisin Mullin is in line for his AFL debut this weekend.

The 23-year-old Mayo GAA star has been named at half back in the team to take on GWS Giants at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday at 7.35am Irish time.

Two other Irish players, Kerryman Mark O’Connor and Laois’ Zach Tuohy – both premiership winners with the club last season – have also been named in the team, while Derry’s Callum Brown has been named in the GWS side.

“They brought me into the match committee meeting room,” Mullin explained in a video showing his call home to Mayo to tell his family that he would be making his debut.

“All the coaches were there. Mark O’Connor told me.”

Mullin has got to grips with his new code rapidly since it was announced he was making the move to Oz six months ago. He is set to become the third quickest Irish AFL debutant.
