As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí have seized €30,000 in cash, following an operation in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, this morning, Wednesday 15th March 2023.

At approximately 6:50am, a search of eight residences was conducted by Detectives attached to Galway/Oranmore Garda station, members of the Galway/Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit, North Western Regional Armed Support Unit, Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit and the Garda Dog Unit. During the course of the search approximately €30,000 in cash was seized as well as approximately €2,000 of suspected drugs, various weapons, banking documentation and electronic items.

The searches were related to an ongoing organised crime investigation in the Galway and Mayo Divisions.

No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
