Mayo senior manager Kevin McStay has handed league debuts to two players for tomorrow’s Allianz National Football League opener against Galway in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.

Jack Coyne also gets his first league start for Mayo at corner-back after a very impressive season with Ballyhaunis in the Mayo GAA Intermediate Football Championship. Rory Brickenden and Enda Hession complete the Mayo full-back line.

Stephen Coen, the redeployed Conor Loftus and Donnacha McHugh make up the Mayo half-back line.

The experienced Matthew Ruane and Diarmuid O’Connor are named at midfield.

Up front, Fionn McDonagh, Jack Carney and Jordan Flynn are named in an impressive half-forward line.

The Mayo full-forward line consists of Aiden Orme, James Carr and Ryan O’Donoghue.

Stephen Coen will captain the side against Galway.

McStay has confirmed that Paddy Durcan will captain the Mayo senior football team for the 2023 season with Stephen Coen and Tommy Conroy as vice-captains.

This will be Mayo’s 49th National League meeting with Galway. Mayo have won 26 leagues and Galway have won 18 and four have been draws.

Referee on the day is Cavan’s Joe McQuillan.

It will be live on RTÉ2.

Throw-in time is at 7.30pm.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early.
