Gardaí have confirmed that the missing person appeal for Patrick Rowland has been stood down following the recovery of a man’s body today.
“The missing person appeal in respect of Patrick Rowland, 69 years, has been stood down following the discovery of a man’s body earlier today, Tuesday, 17th January 2023 in the Castlebar area,” a statement said.
“We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this matter.”
Castlebar Mitchels GAA club, whose members played an extensive role in the search for Patrick Rowland issued the following statement on behalf of his family: “On behalf of the Rowland family we would like to thank all the Volunteers who came out and helped in the search for Pat. Also to everyone who sent messages of support to us during the search. We also wish to thank all the emergency services and the management and Staff of The Traveller’s Friend Hotel Castlebar. Your support to us over the last number of days will never be forgotten. The Rowland Family.”
