Colin Farrell thanked the locals people in both Achill Island and Inis Mór in his Golden Globes acceptance speech last night.
Farrell was awarded Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin, which was filmed on both Achill and Inis Mór.
“I want to thank the locals of Inis Mór and Achill Island that brought us in and there was lines blurred between all of us, so that we were just one big family for the betterment of all our souls on that experience,” Farrell said.

Director Martin McDonagh also went on to win the award for best screenplay for The Banshees Of Inisherin, thanking its stars as well as the wider cast.
The film also won in the best motion picture, musical or comedy category.
