The Banshees of Inisherin, which was partially filmed in Achill, Co Mayo has been nominated for eight Golden Globes Awards, the most of any movie.

Actors Kerry Condon, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan have all been nominated for their performance in Martin’s McDonagh film.
McDonagh has also been shortlisted for Best Director and Best Screenplay.
Condon has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress while Gleeson and Keoghan have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Farrell meanwhile, has been nominated in the leading actor role.
Composer Carter Burwell has also been nominated for the Best Original Score.
The movie has received rave reviews since its release in late October with many more award nominations predicted for the cast and crew. It has had an uplifting effect on Achill’s tourism, with a ‘Banshees’ trail now launched for visitors to see the iconic locations from the movie.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Beverly Hills on January 10 next.
