A Mayo man’s charity effort has raised over €2,000 for a school in his locality.

John Reilly (centre left) was delighted to have raised €2,000 for Westport Educate Together National School.

John Reilly performed a ‘Dip-a-Day’ in different locations in Westport and Kilmeena throughout the month of October.

The Kilmeena GAA manager expressed his delight that he raised over €2,000 for Westport Educate Together National School (WETNS).

WETNS is a new school that opened in September 2019. The school recently moved to a new premises at Westport Woods at the Quay in Westport, and have a brand new playground area, which is need of playground equipment for the children to enjoy.

“I was absolutely delighted to raise over €2,000 with my October Dip-a-Day fundraiser in aid of playground equipment for Westport Educate Together National School.

“It was fantastic to attend the recent Westport ETNS ‘Winter Fair’ and be presented with a collage made by the children at the school. Thank you again to everyone for your good wishes and support during the fundraiser, it was really appreciated!”
