A fundraiser has been set up for a beautiful, gentle two-year-old who has been diagnosed with a rare progressive form of infantile scoliosis recently.

Aiveen is the daughter of Niall and Tara Curley from Ballymote, Co Sligo.

Aiveen Conroy has been diagnosed with a rare progressive form of infantile scoliosis recently.

She has an extreme curve on her spine which, if left untreated, will keep developing and impact her organ development. This is extremely dangerous as it is already pushing down on her little lung and against her kidney, and if it keeps progressing, it will start impacting her other organs. This can in some cases, be fatal.

The urgent treatment little Aiveen needs is in a hospital located in Philadelphia. It will involve Aiveen and her parents travelling back and forth to America every eight weeks for multiple procedures to straighten her spine.

Eileen Kirrane set up a GoFundMe on behalf of Aiveen and she said: “As you can imagine, travelling to America, leaving their little boy with relatives, every 8 weeks is going to come at a huge emotional and financial cost to Niall and Tara, but they truly believe this is the only way forward to give Aiveen the best outcome in the future.

“So we as the family and extended family of my nephew Niall, his wife Tara, and of course Aiveen are asking you to please donate whatever you can, to help little Aiveen get the treatment she needs. The monies raised will go towards the travel and accommodation expenses in America.

“Aiveen is a true little warrior. We know that she is brave enough to overcome the challenges ahead if given the opportunity.”
