Aileen Gilroy has been selected in defence on the AFLW Team of the Week for Round 6.

The Killala native has had a great season so far with her new team Hawthorn.

She had 15 disposals and 10 tackles in their win 44-41 over West Coast on Friday.

Hawthorn are a new expansion team based in Melbourne, Gilroy moved from North Melbourne in May.
