Tubbercurry native Liam Kerrigan has been ruled out from the upcoming UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-offs against Israel through injury.

The Como 1907 striker had been selected on manager Jim Crawford’s 25-man squad. Barnsley’s Luca Connell, Sheffield Wednesday’s Mark McGuinness and Cork City’s David Harrington have all been ruled out through injury.
Crawford’s has called-up Burnley’s Dara Costelloe, NAC Breda’s Anselmo Garcia MacNulty and St Patrick’s Athletic duo Adam O’Reilly and David Odumosu.
Belcarra’s Luke McNicholas and Galway native Aaron Connolly are included in the squad.
The squad met up in Dublin on Sunday and will train at Abbotstown this week.
They will host Israel on Friday next at 7pm in Tallaght Stadium in the first leg. The following Tuesday (September 27), they will travel to Bloomfield Stadium, Tel Aviv for the second leg, kick-off is at 7pm.
If they overcome this hurdle they will be at the European Under-21 Championships in Romania and Georgia. It will be Ireland’s first time in the finals.
