Tuam Mother and Baby Home survivor Seosamh Ó Maolchróin will climb Croagh Patrick for a seventh time next month.

Seosamh Ó Maolchróin was born in the Tuam Mother and Baby Home in 1952 and spent the first seven years of his life there.

Earlier this year, the Aughagower man committed to scaling the Reek seven times during 2022 in memory of the babies who died in the Tuam facility in 1952, the year he entered the home.

On Wednesday, September 7, he will climb in memory of Josephine Teresa Staunton from Bohola, who died in the home after just two days on that date in 1952. It will be the final instalment of Seosamh’s series of climbs.

Seosamh is appealing to any relations of Josephine Teresa Staunton to join him on the climb.

They will meet in Murrisk in car park at 11.45am and begin their climb at 12pm.

All are welcome to attend.
