US Ambassador to Ireland Claire Cronin is in Mayo for a number of engagements this week.
Mrs Cronin visited Áras an Chontae in Castlebar yesterday where she was greeted by a reception from Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council Seamus Weir. She was made an Honorary Mayo Person by Cllr Weir.

She then headed to north Mayo where she met the newly-weds Laurita Blewitt and Joe Brolly at Mount Falcon Estate. Laurita is a third cousin of US President Joe Biden.

The Ambassador also visited Rouse’s Bar in Ballina, which she called a “fabulous establishment”. She met Pat and Maura and their daughter Fiona Rouse in the famous pub.

Her next stop was Coca-Cola in Ballina where she received a tour of the facility.
