The six-person interview panel tasked with choosing the new Mayo senior football manager has been confirmed.

The six-person panel will be comprised of Mayo County Board chairperson Seamus Tuohy; County Board treasurer Valerie Murphy; County Board vice-secretary Ronan Currane; South Mayo Board chairperson Mike King; Pat O’Donnell of the Cairde Mhaigheo committee; and Sean Silke, the former All-Ireland winning Galway hurler who will be the outside HR representative on the panel.

It is understood that the six-person panel will meet with and interview the four candidates for the Mayo senior manager’s position – Ray Dempsey, Kevin McStay, Michael Solan and Declan Shaw – the week after next.

Neither County Board secretary Dermot Butler nor vice-chair Con Moynihan are part of the interview panel to prevent potential conflicts of interests, as there are candidates or members of their respective backroom teams who are clubmates with the pair.
