The Connacht U18 Girls had a comfortable win over Ulster on Sunday

The Connacht U18 Girls had a comfortable win over Ulster in their friendly in Ballina RFC on Sunday.

There were 10 Mayo girls on the Connacht U18 matchday squad – Ailish Quinn, Emily Foley, Grainne Moran, Mila Sotoparra, Sarah McCormick and Clara Barrett (all Ballina RFC); Grainne Hahessy, Niamh Corless and Rhona O’Dea (all Claremorris Colts); Ellen O’Toole (Westport RFC).

The girls wore the socks of their home club in what was special day for women’s rugby in north Mayo as the Emerging Talent and senior teams also played Ulster.

The Connacht U18 management team would like to thank club chairperson Deirdre Whyte and everyone at Ballina RFC for their great hospitality on the day.

“We would like to thank Deirdre Whyte and all at Ballina RFC for pulling out all the stops and making it a very special day for both us and Ulster,” Connacht U18 team manager Natalie Fox.
