The number of pubs in Co Mayo has declined by 25.1 per cent in the past 16 years, a report shows.
Analysis by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland found that there were 467 pubs in Mayo in 2005 compared to 350 in 2021. A loss of 117 in that time.
The county lost 22 pubs during the pandemic.

The group has called on the Government to reduce excise taxes by 7.5 per cent over the next two years to ease the cost burden on rural drinks businesses and help ensure their sustainability.
