Desmond Yobouet pictured at Bishopsgate, Longford Town’s home ground

A young Mayo footballer has made the step-up to the League of Ireland ranks.

Desmond Yobouet has joined Longford Town from Ballyhaunis Town FC.

The East Mayo club wished Desmond well in a statement on social media.

“All here at Ballyhaunis Town wish Desmond Yobouet the best of luck with his well-deserved move to Longford Town Football Club swapping one Black and Red Jersey for another.

“Desmond has a brilliant attitude on and off the pitch, he started playing football with Ballyhaunis as a young 9 year old and flourished under Johnny Powers, Desmond’s leadership showed in abundance throughout Ballyhaunis Town’s u17 success this year.

“We have no doubt you will go on to do great things Dessy and we look forward to following you on your footballing journey. You are always welcome in Station Rise.”
