A car stolen from a forecourt of a Ballina car dealership has been recovered.

The 2014 Opel Insignia taken from the forecourt of Kevin Kennedy Motors in the town at about 9.30am yesterday morning was spotted in the east of the country this morning, and has been recovered by Gardaí.

They took to social media to thank everyone for helping locate the stolen car.

“Thanks to you and the power of social media our car was spotted in the East of the country this morning and has been recovered by An Garda Siochana.

“A sincere thank you to everyone who shared our posts, Midwest radio, Ballina Gardai and a massive thank you to the eagle eyed person who spotted the car for us and called it in.

“We wouldn’t have recovered it as quickly without your help. The good side to social media

“From Kevin, Ciaran and all the team THANK YOU.”
