Cllr John O’Hara has reiterated his call for Bus Eireann to provide public parking and sufficient drop-off points for their customers at their Ballina depot.

Cllr O’Hara raised this at last month’s meeting of the Ballina Municipal District and raised it again at last Wednesday’s meeting following what he described as a “vague response” from the company.

“They need to provide parking at this bus station. The drop-off spot won’t support more than two cars. This is an injustice to the people of Ballina.”

His calls were support by Cllr Mark Duffy who said he recently had a first hand experience of the lack of parking outside the Kevin Barry Street station.

“There is only two pull-in spots and the only alternative is for people to pull in at the side of the road, which is highly dangerous. This should be reviewed and the facilities should be there.”
