Ballina has bid a fond farewell to local priest Fr Billy Sheridan SMA, who is set to leave the parish of Kilmoremoy at the end of this month.

Fr Billy Sheridan
Fr Sheridan celebrated a special farewell Mass last Sunday in St Patrick’s Church. Refreshments were served following the Mass and many local residents came out to join Fr Sheridan on this occasion to thank him and wish him all the best in his next chapter.
Fr Sheridan will now be moving to Claregalway to take up a new appointment and there is a genuine sense in the Ballina area that the parish of Kilmoremoy’s loss will be Claregalway’s gain.
Fr Tom Doherty is also set to leave Ballina Parish to take up a new appointment in the Belmullet, Kilcommon and Kilmore-Erris area and will also be greatly missed by all in Ballina.
He will celebrate a farewell Mass in St Muredach’s Cathedral this Sunday, June 26. All are invited to thank Fr Doherty and wish him well on his new appointment.
