The Irish Civil War is one of the darkest chapters in the history of the island of Ireland. The magnitude of this event was matched only by the deafening silence which followed in its wake.

Sibhialta Atá Mé / Civil I Am, offers us a glimpse into the hell that is civil war. Historian Damien Quinn has selected a collection of photographs taken at various locations which document moments in The Irish Civil War. Sound Designer Donncha Walsh has created a unique and powerful soundscape to accompany the exhibition and Mattie Hynes has designed the layout.

This is a unique experience presenting us with a stark vista of a people at war with themselves.

The exhibition opens on July 9 until July 24 at The Stables, Áras na nGael on Dominick Street in Galway city.
