It just wasn’t to be for Cill Chomáin CLG in the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta Cluiche Ceannais Sóisir (junior final) in Leitir Mór, Co Galway yesterday.

The Erris-based club lost in heartbreaking fashion as Gaeil Fhánada CLG from Donegal won 2-11 to 2-10 after extra-time.

Last year’s Mayo junior runners-up defeated Meath’s Clann na nGael 1-16 to 3-7 in the semi-final on Sunday.

It was the first time the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta had been held since 2019.
