Two students from Conception Bay South in Newfoundland were recognised yesterday by the Irish Ambassador to Canada Eamonn McKee for a project they started in 2018.
Kaitlyn Grandy and Stephanie Evans launched their Raven KASTER boat from the Grand Banks of Newfoundland on November 11 2018, and it was found in Achill on Dookinella Beach 102 days later.
The boat is currently on display in the Visitor Centre at the Achill Experience, who are delighted to be working with the Raven KASTER 2023 relaunch project.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the boat again (in 2023), because it’s been a while and it was in one piece when they found it, although it went through two storms and then it made it all the way to Ireland. It’s going to be really cool to see it again,” Ms Evans told NTV News.
