Recreational forests, walking trails and cycleways from all around Mayo have received €88,000 worth of funding from the Department of Community and Rural Development today.
This funding for recreational forests and tourist spots in County Mayo, is part of a new five-year strategic plan with Coillte designed to boost rural tourism.
The 13 areas that received funding are:
Brackloon Wood: €4,000
Castlemagarrett (Claremorris): €6,000
Clydagh Bridge: €3,000
Drummin, Foxford: €6,000
Knockranny: €6,000
Moorehall: €3,000
Nephin Mór: €3,000
Raheens: €10,000
Sheskin: €6,000
Tawnyard Leenane: €7,000
Tourmakeady: €13,000
