Mayo County Council wishes to inform the public of the immediate closure of the L1824 at Barnaderg/Tawnyard, Westport, in the interests of public safety.

This closure in place until further notice.

Road detour points are available at:

• North of the closure at Drummin village at its junction with the L1825 (Louisburgh road), and,
• South of the closure at Doolough/Delphi at its junction with the R335 (Leenane-Louisburgh road).

Local access will be maintained to properties beyond the detour points but there is no through road.
