Students from a school in South Mayo had an “unbelievably” successful day in Microsoft, where they pitched some of their app developments.

Pupils from Mount Saint Michael Claremorris secondary school had hugely successful pitches to the judges.

Caoimhe Monahan and Aoibheann Mangan won first place with their App ‘Helping Hands’. While 5th year Anna Farragher took third place with her App ‘Organised Chaos’. After a strong pitch presenting their app, ‘Virtual Reality Check’, Olivia Blitger Griffith and Ronnie Foley were also runners up in the same category.

In the junior category, Natasha Joyce was commended for her app, “Speak Up Not Down’.

“All our teams did themselves and Mount Saint Michael proud today…what a year for Girls in Tech!” the school said in a social media post.
