70-year-old Tuam Mother and Baby Home survivor Seosamh Ó Maolchroin is climbing Croagh Patrick for a fourth time this year.

The Aughagower man is committed to scaling the Reek seven times during 2022 in memory of the babies who died in the Tuam facility in 1952, the year he entered the home.

This Saturday, Mayo Day, he will remember Patrick Hardiman from Loughrea Co Galway, who died in the home at five-and-a-half months on April 30, 1952.

Anyone who wants to join Mr Ó Maolchroin can meet at Murrisk car park at 10.30am, with the climb beginning at 11am.
