A major investment has been announced today for Ireland West Airport Knock under the Regional Airports Programme.

€4.76 million in Capital Funding is being invested in boosting the safety, security and sustainability systems at the airport.

It forms part of a €16 million investment by Government across a number of airports, including Donegal, Kerry, Shannon and Cork.

Mayo TD Dara Calleary welcomed the news: “Delighted to continue my work in supporting the development of the airport – the jewel in the crown of the West. Congratulations to Joe (Gilmore) and the team and best wishes for the busy summer season ahead.”
