To support the extensive work of local Mayo charity ‘Candle of Grace’, who urgently require food donations for the critical and catastrophic situation for so many in Ukraine, Foxford and Straide communities have organised drop off points to assist in the effort.

There are now two drop off centres – Straide Church and Foxford Leisure Centre. Both are open daily, 8am to 8pm at Straide Church and 8.30am to 10pm at Foxford Leisure Centre.

Non-perishable food items will all be gratefully accepted, but not in glass jars and preferably with long Best Before Dates.

Such items include: Tins (meats, beans, fish, pulses, vegetables, fruit); dry (pasta, rice, noodles, couscous), tea, coffee, long life milk, porridge, cereals, soup packets, flour, sugar, crackers, biscuits, bars, sweets, baby formula and food sachets.

The deadline for dropping off donations at both locations is Saturday week, April 16.
