Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic accident on the N5 this morning.

The main N5 road in Roscommon remains closed to traffic following the collision.

The road was shut between Tulsk and Ballinagare after a car and truck collided at around 8.30am.

Emergency services attended the scene and two men have been taken to Mayo University Hospital for treatment for their injuries.
