Cora Staunton let everyone know that she is showing no signs of slowing down as she kicked four goals in a colossal performance this morning.

The Carnacon native was instrumental for the Greater Western Sydney Giants as they defeated Geelong 53-35.

Coming into the match with 14 goals for the season, the former Mayo footballer’s haul saw her draw level at the top of the tally with Tayla Harris on 18 majors. Staunton finished the season with nine goals from her final three games.

Staunton’s story is just amazing, after suffering a quadruple leg-break in 2019, she is back scoring goals at the age of 40.

Her fourth goal really put the icing on the cake.

“I suppose it’s nice to end the season on a high,” Staunton told Fox Footy post-match.

“It’s been disappointing obviously with aspirations to make finals, but I suppose for this group and next year it’s really important to finish on a high and a couple of goals are nice to go with it.”
