Westport’s Eoghan McLaughlin and Knockmore’s Connell Dempsey were outstanding as UL came from behind to defeat Letterkenny IT 2-23 to 3-15 in the second round of the Sigerson Cup at the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Bekan today.

The Donegal team had a great start as they led 1-4 to 0-1 after 10 minutes, but UL battled back to lead 0-11 to 1-7 at the interval.

McLaughlin’s surging run in the second half were a constant thorn in the side of Maxi Curran’s charges as he registered two points. The Wolves began to pull away outscoring their opponents 2-7 to 0-4 in the final quarter. Kerry star David Clifford was in fine form up front, finishing with a tally of 2-7.

Dempsey was fantastic in the centre of the park, as he kicked three points from play.

Charlestown’s Paul Towey and Bonniconlon’s Conor Igoe were second half substitutes for UL, while Tourlestrane’s Conor Gaughan started at centre-forward for Letterkenny.

UL are the first team to progress to the quarter-finals, you can watch the full game back here.
