Shamrock Rovers striker Rory Gaffney has been named on the PFAI Team of the Year.

The Tuam native, who had spells in England with Bristol Rovers and Walsall, among others, earned his spot on the team alongside clubmates Roberto Lopes and Liam Scales after they helped lead the club to a second successive League of Ireland Premier Division title.

Gaffney scored 8 goals in 33 appearances and was pivotal in Rovers title charge. He also has a link to Mayo, his brother Shane is the owner of Massage Guns Ireland, a business based out of Newport.
