Over 2,200 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Mayo during the month of November thus far. On the first day of this month, a total of 11,686 cases had been recorded to date in the county.
According to the HSE’s latest data, as of November 23 this figure had rise to 13,915, meaning that 2,229 new cases have been confirmed in Mayo during November.
Westport has the highest 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 in Mayo. A total of 282 cases was confirmed in the Westport Electoral area from November 9th until November 22nd leaving it with an incidence rate of 1534.4.
There were 416 cases during this period in the Castlebar area where the rate is 1387 per 100,000. The rate in Claremorris is 1271.1 with 345 new cases during the past two weeks. The Ballina electoral area has a rate of 1214.7 per 100k with 305 new cases.
Swinford’s rate is now 1191.7 after 206 new cases being identified in the area.
The rate in the Belmullet area is still one of the lowest in the country at 468.3 after reporting 59 new cases.
