Knockmore have retained the Paddy Moclair Cup, after they defeated Belmullet 1-9 to 0-6 in an unforgettable Mayo SFC final in James Stephens Park, Ballina today.

James Ruddy’s goal right on the stroke of half-time proved to be a crucial one, as Knockmore used all their experience to grind out the victory. Belmullet will be disappointed with their performance in their first Mayo SFC final in 40 years but at the start of the year, few expected them to make it this far.

Knockmore will take on Sligo’s Tourlestrane in a home venue in the Connacht Club SFC semi-final in two weeks’ time.
