Mayo fans desperately searching for tickets to Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC Final will be encouraged to hear that Mayo County Board has received a second allocation of tickets to distribute among its 48 clubs.
The Western People has learnt this evening (Monday) that nearly another 1,400 tickets will be made available to clubs while a further 500 tickets have come on stream for Mayo GAA season ticket holders.
Each of the 16 senior clubs in Mayo are to receive 32 extra tickets – 20 for the stand and 12 for the terrace.
Each of the 16 intermediate clubs will receive an additional 28 tickets – 20 for the stand and eight for the terrace.
All junior (and hurling) clubs will gain another 22 tickets – 20 for the stand and two for the terrace.
There had been disquiet among Mayo GAA season ticket holders that only 500 tickets for Saturday’s clash with Tyrone were being made available among 3,600 subscribers. However, all those who were unfortunate not to gain a ticket in last Wednesday’s draw were tonight (Monday) due to be included in another draw for an additional 500 tickets, with Croke Park overseeing the proceedings. The winners will be notified by email on Tuesday.
