A county-by-county breakdown of the nation’s Covid-19 vaccination take-up rate has been revealed.
Almost 95% of all adults in Mayo have received the vaccine, according to the report in today’s Irish Independent.
Uptake of the vaccine was generally strong in the West. Close to 96% of adults in Sligo are vaccinated. In Galway, Roscommon, and Leitrim, the figure is over 93%.
The highest vaccine take-up rate was in Waterford where 98.5% of adults were vaccinated.
Monaghan has the lowest rate of vaccination in the country with 81.9% of adults there getting at least one dose of a Covid vaccine as of August 22. Donegal has the second-lowest vaccination rate at 83.5%
Overall Ireland has the second-highest vaccination uptake rate in the EU – bettered only by Malta.
