The mercury hit 30 degrees at the Newport Furnace weather station in Mayo yesterday as the country continues to sizzle in the heatwave.
Elsewhere in the county, temperatures hit 29 degrees in Claremorris, while Belmullet and Knock Airport reached highs of 28.1 and 28 degrees respectively.
Mount Dillon in Roscommon was once again the hottest place in Ireland yesterday, with temperatures hitting 30.8 degrees.
Met Eireann has said that it will be hot today and dry with hazy sunshine. There will be highs of 26 to 30 degrees with slightly lower temperatures along southern and eastern coasts due to onshore breezes.
