Four students from St Muredach’s College in Ballina will commence their bid for victory in the latest world final of the prestigious F1 in Schools challenge later today, Friday, June 4.

Annex Racing, which is comprised of 5th year students Harry Regan, Cian Newcombe, Ben Maloney and Niall Tracey, qualified for the 2020 world final of the event in June last year, boasting the fastest car among the four Irish world finalists.

The 2020 world final was ultimately postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic but will take place virtually this weekend.

Annex Racing is the third team from St Muredach’s College to compete in the F1 in Schools world final since 2015.

The international event is renowned for its incredibly challenging requirements in terms of knowledge and skills across the four (STEM) subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Annex Racing will compete in the weekend’s world finals as part of an international collaboration team competing under the name Nine Degrees Racing.
The Western People wishes them the best of luck!
