OPW Minister, Patrick O’Donovan TD, will be visiting Mayo tomorrow, Tuesday, June 1.
Minister O’Donovan will be meeting with local officials from the OPW and Mayo County Council in relation to progressing the Crossmolina Flood Relief Scheme.
The planned visit has been confirmed by local FG Dáil Deputy Alan Dillon who said: “The long-awaited Crossmolina Flood Relief Scheme has been one of several key priorities for me since being elected to Dáil Éireann. I have met with members of the Crossmolina Flood Relief Scheme on a number of occasions and have been in regular contact with the Office of Public Works to progress the matter. It is great to have Minister O’Donovan coming to Mayo to ensure the project is prioritised without further delay.”
Deputy Dillon concluded: “This is a €13.5million project and will provide protection to 116 properties which have been repeatedly subject to flooding, putting personal safety and livelihoods at risk. Minister O’Donovan has always been clear on the importance of this project to him and I look forward to his visit.”
