Two women from Mayo will be cycling across the country from coast to coast over the course of a week to raise funds for a worthy cause.

Starting off from Poolbeg Lighthouse in Dublin on May 29, Elisha Lavelle from Bohola and Una Byrne from Knock will cycle over 400km to Achill with a goal of raising €1000 for the ‘Cancer Fund for Children.’

The Cancer Fund for Children are in the processing of building the Daisy Lodge in Cong, a support centre for children who have cancer and their families.

Elisha said; “Unfortunately young or old can be affected by cancer and although there are brilliant charities out there, we choose this charity as we know the work they do to support children and their families is second to none. Every donation will bring us one step closer to having our own Daisy Lodge in Mayo.”

“We are two girls who don’t cycle, so it will be interesting to see how we will get on.”
