A fur coat and a pair of kids’ wellies were among the lost and found items recorded at Westport Train Station.

According to a report in the Irish Examiner, a recording of items lost and/or found at Westport included a grey medical bag, several pairs of spectacles and a passport.

Also left behind was a blue jacket containing a copy of the Irish Field newspaper and a crutch. Numerous Penney’s bags were also reported lost.

Thousands of items are accidentally left behind or simply abandoned on train services every year with headphones, chargers, wallets and clothing items among the most commonly misplaced items.
