A local dog grooming business  is hosting a novel fundraiser for the North West Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NWSPCA) on Friday, May 7 next.

This year has been a tough year for the NWSPCA volunteers.

The time and care that is put into each animal’s veterinary needs, fostering care and the work done finding them new homes is second to none.

Now, more than ever, they need funds to continue to do their vital work and Ballina dog-grooming business, Plush Paws, is hoping to help them on their way with a novel event.

The business is run by Suzie Nealon who will host a wash-a-thon on Friday, May 7 next whereby she will attempt to wash and dry as many dogs as possible, with all proceeds going towards the NWSCA.

Wash and drys will be slightly cheaper on the day with mini tidies (face and paws) and nail trims also available.

As part of the wash-a-thon, there are also 30 great prizes to be won, thanks to the generous sponsorship of local businesses.

Covid-19 public health guidelines will be observed throughout the event.

To book a wash, dry, mini tidy or nail trim for your dog please call (087) 136 4691.
