History was made in one Mayo town this morning when over 250 people took to the streets at 8am for a record spring clean.
The clean-up was coordinated by the local voluntary Ballina Community Clean Up Group in conjunction with Mayo Co Council to mark the global environmental initiative that is Earth Day as well as Ireland’s National Spring Clean event.
Hundreds of locals worked their way through approximately 10 designated areas around the town to clear and dispose of litter and demonstrate that Ballina is united in its commitment to the environment and to becoming the best place to live, work and invest in.
Covid-19 public health guidelines were fully complied with throughout.
The Ballina Community Clean Up Group has just premiered a fantastic video of the clean-up event which you can view on its here.
