There were two confirmed cases of Covid-19 at Mayo University Hospital as of 8pm last night.

That figure is unchanged from the previous two days. The hospital’s ICU is also Covid-free.

Sligo University Hospital had just one confirmed Covid-19 patient while Galway University Hospital was treating 9 Covid patients and six were recorded at Portiuncula.

According to the Health Service Executive, there were 189 patients with the disease in hospitals across the country last night.

It means that the number of hospital patients with Covid-19 has fallen below 200 for the first time since mid-December.

Twenty-two hospitals are reporting fewer than ten cases each of the virus.
