People are invited to take part in an online public meeting about the future of remote working in Mayo.

The event has been organised by Fine Gael and will be hosted by local TD Alan Dillon and Tánaiste Leo Varadkar.

Deputy Dillon is encouraging constituents to register online and take part in the discussion that takes place on Tuesday, April 20 at 8pm.

Speaking ahead of the event, Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Leo Varadkar, said: “We want remote and flexible working to be a much bigger part of life after Covid. The pandemic has demonstrated what is possible and the Government is now putting in place the necessary laws, codes of practice and incentives to make it a more viable option in the long-term.”

The aim of this meeting is to discuss the future possibilities of remote and flexible working for county Mayo.  Never before has an opportunity with this level of potential for Mayo presented itself, we must grab it with no hesitation and fully utilise the timing of the rollout of the National Broadband Plan,” said Deputy Dillon.
